Skeptic-fest Takes Place This Weekend in Irvine


There probably won't be an invocation. 

The Orange County Freethought Alliance Conference is taking place Saturday and Sunday at the University of California, Irvine, 210 C Student Center. A slew of skeptics are scheduled to talk about what they don't believe, and why they don't believe it.

The Saturday sessions run from noon to 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday's sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Featured speakers include Michael Shermer, publisher of Skeptics magazine, and Dan Barker, president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
One-day or two-day passes range from $80 – $150. Student passes are $35. Save $30 by pre-registering online at Freethoughtalliance.org. Check the website for details on conference-related parties throughout the weekend.
