OC Weekly's big sister paper, LA Weekly, has announced that long-time Los Angeles journalist Drex Heikes will become its next editor on Aug. 17.
LA's announcement has the full scoop, but the quick rundown is Heikes previously spent 18 years at the Los Angeles Times before taking the number-two position at the Las Vegas Sun in 2005, helping to recast a traditional afternoon daily newspaper into a magazine devoted to enterprise and analysis.
