The first public poll of voter support in the Orange County sheriff's race found that Sandra Hutchens is far in the lead but significantly short of winning the necessary 50 percent plus vote to avoid a November runoff, according to the Voice of OC. The Voice of OC poll conducted by Republican pollster Adam Probolsky "shows Hutchens garnering 26.7 percent of the vote if the election were held today, giving her a significant advantage over challengers Bill Hunt and Craig Hunter, who polled at 11.3 percent and 7.4 percent, respectively," wrote Norberto Santana, Jr., editor of the new investigative news service.
