Rep. Ed Royce Scores City Council Endorsement

Thanks to California redistricting, Rep. Ed Royce (R-Fullerton) is in the midst of the political fight of his life.

In November's election, Royce–the brainiest member of Orange County's congressional delegation–faces Gary Miller, another current, Republican representative, for the right to serve the newly-drawn 39th district (portions of Orange County, Los Angeles and San Bernardino) in the nation's capital.

The independently wealthy Miller–who constantly seems on the verge of an FBI corruption indictment–has a war chest advantage over Royce, who is a sensational campaign fundraiser, but the Fullerton politician recently got an election boost.

The entire Walnut city council recently decided to endorse him, according to a Royce press release.

You may be saying, “So what?”

Perhaps,
it's nothing big. But the folks of south east Los Angeles County, where
Walnut is located, are more familiar with Miller. He's represented
portions of that region for years.

Royce, an Orange County
resident, said in a prepared statement that he's been picking up
“considerable support” in the Los Angeles area, including Supervisor Don Knabe.
