Put Your Pouncing Shoes On: Orange County Gets Its First Cougar Convention

I am cougar, hear me roar.

This should bring all the boys to the yard.

On Feb. 12, just in time for the Day 'o Lovin', the first Orange County Cougar Convention is coming to The Shark Club in Costa Mesa.

Cue “Mrs. Robinson.”

If these photos from a similar event posted by our sister paper SF Weekly are any indication, expect to see plenty of name-tag-adorned breastices, googly-eyed jail bait and maybe even some tongue action. We're counting down the days.

The convention, sponsored by the Society of Single Professionals, will feature a keynote address by Rich Gosse, author of The Cougar Imperative: Why Midlife Women Must Choose Younger Men,
a cougar comedy show and a dance party. During the soiree, the
cubs–younger men prowling for older women–will vote for Miss
Cougar Valentine. The woman crowned will receive a free room at Hedonism II Resort and
Spa in
Jamaica during International Cougar Week, March 27 to April 2. (Yes, there's such a thing.) Admission is $20 at the door.
