ORIGINAL POST, APRIL 24, 7:31 A.M.: Pump, a 2014 documentary that chronicles the century-long oil monopoly (and what the public can do to end it), is making a swing of California universities, including UCI Irvine Monday night.

Narrated by Jason Bateman, co-produced by the Irvine-based Fuel Freedom Foundation and featuring interviews with such alternative-fuel experts as Tesla's Elon Musk, Pump shows practical ways to reduce gasoline consumption.

Pump was released in theaters last fall, recently became available on DVD and Netflix and has been on a recent campus tour that took it to USC, UCLA and Humboldt State.

The Climatepedia chapter at UCI is hosting the showing here from 6-8 p.m. Monday in Steinhaus Hall, Room 134. Free giveaways are promised to all who attend. For more details, visit: https://www.facebook.com/events/455308817958911/.
