Pot, Guns and Cash Seized After Raids of Dispensaries and Homes

Weed, guns and money were seized last week after law enforcement served search warrants at storefront medical-marijuana dispensaries in Lake Forest and Long Beach and the homes of people associated with the shops.

According to a notice from the Orange County Sheriff's Department, members of South Narcotics and the Special Investigations Bureau served search warrants Thursday at 1 a.m. at Lake Forest Discount Caregivers, 24602 Raymond Way, Ste. 207, Lake Forest, and Positive Vibrations, 2137 Pacific Ave., Long Beach.

The warrants were also extended to residences in Irvine, Laguna Hills and an unincorporated area near Corona where owners and associates of the dispensaries live.

Deputies say they recovered more than $200,000 in U.S. currency, 16 pounds of marijuana, “sales records and other items of evidence relating to possible illegal marijuana sales,” five handguns (including one handgun with the serial numbers removed), and one shotgun.

No arrests were announced, and the investigation is continuing.
