Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides Official Trailer Debuted, But You Can Still See It

Time was, the premiere of a movie would be a big deal. Now, the huzzahs surround the premiere of the official trailer of a movie–or, at least, the trailer for a cash-cow picture like Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. A teaser to the official trailer of the fourth picture in the Disney franchise was even unveiled at the last Comic-Con. An invitation-only screening rolled this morning at the AMC Downtown Disney
Theatre. Invites were doled out to lucky viewers who jumped through hoops held by KIIS-FM, Yahoo! Movies on Facebook and DisneyMovieRewards.com.

If you weren't among the selected, you can still see the trailer today.

The trailer debuts at 1 p.m. at Yahoo! Movies and 7 p.m. during the Entertainment Tonight broadcast (as they say in the biz, check local listings).

Several official photographs from the 3-D film begin are already circulating around the Internet, as is the trailer teaser that was shown at Comic-Con and this Late Show With David Letterman clip where Johnny Depp says he does not watch his movies.

The 47-year-old actor and his Keith Richards' impersonation star alongside Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane as Blackbeard in the mermaid-loaded On Stranger Tides, which involves a race to the Fountain of Youth . . . so the cast and crew can be hearty and game enough to crank out several more Pirates movies, official trailers and official teasers to official trailers.

By the way, the flick is scheduled to be released on May 21, 2011.
