Orange County Dream Team to Have “ApocalypZolada!” Fundraiser Dec. 21!

If you don't know where to go for the end of the world this December 21st, or where to leave the money under your mattress that you were saving for your mezcalito, no worries: leave it to the Orange County Dream Team, one of the most prominent advocates in Orange County that support and provide resources for undocumented students to reach their roads to higher education.

This Viernes is their annual pozolada, a big ol' celebration featuring buckets of steaming pozole that the Dreamers sell as a fundraiser. This fundraiser is appropriately titled an “ApocalypZolada Celebration,” and all funds will go to their 2012 OCDT Scholarship

The 2012 OCDT Scholarship will benefit 13 students pursuing higher education; eight scholarships will go to current college students continuing their education, five will go to high school students attending college in the fall. Those students interested in applying should visit istillhaveadream.org for the application; last day to mail and postmark is January 25, 2013, no later than 5:00 p.m.

To help out these deserving students and get your pozole, RSVP to their event page for their location and get ready to end the year with a full stomach! You'll get a free bowl of pozole with a suggested $7 donation. Still hungry? Rest your consciousness with the fact that extra bowls will go for only a DOLLAR! See you there!
