Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens will be at the National Sheriff's Association winter
conference in Washington, D.C., this week–just one of several local, regional and state officials heading to the nation's capital.
“Sheriff Hutchens will have her
notepad out; she'll host the Sheriff's Association's annual conference
in Anaheim this June,” blogs KPCC 89.3's Kitty Felde.
In D.C., Hutchens can compare those notes with Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca.

As Felde reports, Santa Ana's Miguel Pulido, Irvine's Sukhee Kang and Long Beach's Robert Foster are among the Southern California mayors attending the U.S. Conference of Mayors' annual gathering in Washington, D.C., this week.
Meanwhile, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Assembly Speaker Karen Bass and other state lawmakers are in town to lobby Congress to send more federal funds to cash-strapped California.
