OC Public Defender Frank Ospino To Be Honored On Saturday


The Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County is scheduled this weekend to honor the Frank Ospino, the county's Public Defender, as “Attorney of the Year.”

During the March 2 event at the group's black tie 35th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser and Installation Dinner labeled “Planting Seeds For A Better Tomorrow” at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim, Ospino will be presented with his award.
Ospino is the first Hispanic to run the Orange County Public Defender office, where he has worked for nearly a quarter of a century and is known for his tenacity in defending low income citizens in criminal matters.

He is a UC Irvine graduate and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California's Hastings College of Law in 1984.
The bar association's event will hold a 6 p.m. silent auction and cocktail hour followed an hour later by the dinner presentation.
