OC Pride Breaks Out in Irvine Saturday

Pride breaks out
in the area between Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre and Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine Saturday, and I don't mean the pride associated with reaching your car dry after leaving either place.

It's OC Pride, the once-despised, now kinda-sorta mainstream celebration of alternative lifestyles–featuring this year's them, “Busting Through the Orange Curtain.”

Attendees–yep, even you straight ones–are welcome.

What you'll find from noon to 10 p.m. are food, refreshments, a kids play and craft area, information booths and stages to feed your head and mucho good vibes.

The main draw is the entertainment, and this year's main stage headliners include Stacy Q, Corday & the Cougars and the Speaker Junkies, while DJ Zach is among those ruling the Dance Tent.

Hey, there's Corday at the left, having been photographed on an Orange rooftop.

The Rainbow Symposium stage includes experts speaking on topic that range from dealing with the Religious Right to all the practical uses for lube to everyone just getting along. And lubing.

Tickets are $10 to enter, $75 if you want the VIP treatment (preferred seating and partying and consuming and such) and $10 to park something in one of those dry spots we were telling you about. Visit PrideOC for more details.

Entertainment and symposium schedules–with evidence of my ability to refrain myself from yet another Beth Krom crack–follow on the next page . . .
