But police say they believe the fellow shot himself. Details are very sketchy.

Robert Villa Lawyer Disputes Tustin PD Version of Fatal Shooting
A 4:30 p.m. domestic violence call sent police to a home in the 1100 block of Scherer Place, where it was reported a man inside had fired a weapon and left with a gun before officers arrived, according to Sgt. Andrew Birozy, a Tustin Police spokesman.
The man returned shortly thereafter, and the officer-involved shooting happened around 6 p.m., according to Birozy's colleague Sgt. Stephanie Nichols, who added the gunman suffered a wound that appears to have been self-inflicted.
Nichols did not know what prompted the OIS or if a firearm was recovered at the scene. A news photographer told City News Service there was an SUV on the same street riddled with bullet holes.
The man was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, but his name, age and condition have not yet been released.
This is the second OIS in Tustin in less than a month. The family of Robert Villa, who was killed by police responding to a domestic situation on Feb. 10, have lawyered up and are disputing the police account of the 23-year-old's death.
Both recent shootings are being investigated by the Orange County District Attorney's office, per protocol.
UPDATE, MARCH 3, 5:09 P.M.: Tustin Police have identified the gunman in Sunday evening's officer-involved shootings as Nicolas Vizcarra of Tustin.
A handgun and ammunition were found in Vizcarra's vehicle, according to Sgt. Andrew Birozy, who added the 30-year-old has been booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, child endangerment likely to cause great bodily injury, evading
police, being a felon with a gun and discharging of a gun in a negligent manner.
