The housing market has taken a battering around the country, but a new report shows one local city can brag about having the most expensive homes in the country.
After surveying regional prices for four-bedroom, two-bathroom homes across the country, Coldwell Banker ranked Newport Beach No. 1 in its latest report.

The $1,826,348 average home price vaulted Newport Beach to the top spot after being ranked No. 8 in 2009.
California cities dominate the list, although Beverly Hills fell out of the top 10 this year, as did Boston.
