Hello, Balboa Pen!

(Not that that's necessarily where this checkpoint will be set up.)

Drivers caught driving impaired can expect jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can exceed $10,000, note the Newps coppers.

Not to mention the embarrassment when friends, family and your car insurance agent find out!

Funding for the checkpoint is provided to the Newport Beach Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
