Newport Beach Film Festival Tells a Twisted Bedtime Story in its 2014 Trailer: Video

To promote its upcoming 15th year, the Newport Beach Film Festival today unveiled a trailer titled Bedtime Story that may not leave you with a sore jaw like last year's Mandible did, but it is just as twisted.

Which is how we like it, dammit!

See nods to Fargo, Memento, Pulp Fiction and more on the next page . . .

Will the Graphic 2013 Newport Beach Film Festival Trailer Mandible Be a Floss Leader?

The trailer evokes how the festival's projectionist is “under the influence” of challenging cinema, which folds nicely into this year's NBFF theme: “15 Years Under the Influence.” The trailer, really a short film, was directed by Tom Routson of Tool and David Myrick was the director of photography.

The festival once again partnered with Santa Monica-based advertising agency RPA to create the video commercial that will pop up on YouTube, NewportBeachFilmFest.com and movie screens before NBFF entries roll April 24-May 1.

“For 15 years the Newport Beach Film Festival has pushed the envelope for what festival promos can be and what film festivals can do,” says Co-Founder and Director of Marketing Todd Quartararo in a statement. “RPA has been our partner, each year bringing more and more prestige to the festival, and has helped position us as a key American film festival featuring the best films from around the globe.”
