Mingshu Jin Accused of Being Madame of Brothel in Apartment in Upscale Part of Irvine

An alleged Irvine madame is scheduled to be arraigned this morning on charges related to a brothel run out of her apartment in an upscale Irvine apartment.

Mingshu Jin–which for the record is not a phony name supplied by a sneaky NTSB intern–faces felony counts of pimping and pandering and a maximum sentence of six years in state prison if convicted.

The 41-year-old, who made her $35,000 bail, was scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Newport Beach. She allegedly advertised her brothel “on a known prostitution website,” according to Irvine Police and the Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA).

Cops got onto the pad after neighbors complained about seeing several different men enter the apartment alone throughout the day, according to an OCDA arraignment statement.

Jin was arrested after allegedly arranging over the phone for an undercover Irvine cop to have sex inside the apartment with a 35-year-old woman for $160, prosecutors said. The subsequent knock on the door did not come from a john there to complete the deal but cops who arrested Jin.

She faces a stiffer sentence than in the past thanks to Prop 35, the state's anti-human trafficking initiative voters passed in the November.
