A 29-year-old mom is accused of having been under the influence of drugs in her Mission Viejo apartment recently while her 3-year-old daughter roamed a parking lot after 10 p.m. unattended and crying for her mother.
Milanya Mundell was later booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of child endangerment and being under the influence of a
controlled substance, while her daughter was taken into protective custody.

Orange County sheriff's deputies, who patrol Mission Viejo, received a call around 10 p.m. Wednesday about the girl wandering around the parking lot of the apartment complex in the 200 block of California Court.
Deputies eventually located Mundell's apartment, and when no one answered the door they discovered it was unlocked and went in. What was locked was the master bedroom door, and the sheriff's department claims its deputies heard the sound of a toilet flushing several times before Mundell finally opened it.
The mother appeared to be under the influence, and drugs and a loaded syringe were found in the unit, according to deputies. Sounds like someone will be having a lonely Mother's Day.
