Miguel Antonio Mendoza Draws Light Sentence for Texting Boys Nude Photos of Himself and Trying to Sex Up 11 y.o.

Miguel Antonio Mendoza, a former afterschool aide who based on his police mugshot from two years ago at right did not look much older than some of his boy victims, was sentenced today to 180 days in jail for sending nude photos of himself to the lads and trying to meet the youngest boy, age 11, for sex.

That jail sentence came over the objections of Deputy District Attorney Nagy Morcos, who sought a three-year prison stretch. But the judge and prosecutor did agree on one penalty . . .

The former part-time aide of Villa Park Elementary School's afterschool
program must register as a sex offender for life.

Beginning in August 2010, then-20-year-old Mendoza of Orange met three boys–ages 11, 15 and 17–through an Internet
cell phone application. He sent text messages to them that included nude photographs of himself–and asked the boys to return the favor.

After a month of this sick shit, Mendoza tried to get into the 11-year-old boy's pants by arranging an Aug. 29, 2010, meeting at the 7-Eleven at Euclid Street and
Warner Avenue in Fountain Valley. That same day, the kid's mother found Mendoza's texts and pictures on her son's cell phone–and she called Fountain Valley Police.

When Mendoza arrived at the 7-Eleven at the pre-arranged time, he did not meet the boy but cops who arrested him. The investigation then produced the texts and photos with the other youths.

In exchange for the jail sentence, Mendoza pleaded guilty today to one
felony count each of lewd acts upon a child under 14 and attempted lewd
act upon a child under 14, and three felony counts each of possession
and control of child pornography and distributing pornography to a
minor.
