Matthew Christopher Tye, An Irvine Lawyer, Charged With Unlawful Sex With Minors


 pervs are everywhere these days. Classrooms (especially Spanish classes), taxis and now the courtroom. An Irvine lawyer has been charged with engaging in sexual relationships with two minors, one of whom was 14 years old at the time of the offense.

Matthew Christopher Tye, 31, was arrested this morning and is being charged with multiple felonies, including unlawful sexual intercourse and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 24 years in prison. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

According to the report from the OC district attorney's office:

Between May and July 2009, Tye is accused of meeting 17-year-old Jane Doe No. 2 online. He is accused of arranging to meet the victim and unlawfully having sex with her on multiple occasions at his Irvine home and in his car in a Disneyland parking lot. Jane Doe No. 2 reported the assault to a family member, who reported it to police. Tye is accused of calling the victim and telling her to lie to police about the sexual conduct.

While investigating Jane Doe No. 2, 14-year-old Jane Doe No. 1 was discovered. Tye is accused of having unlawful sex with the victim on multiple occasions in the defendant's home between May and July 2009. Tye is accused of being in possession of several videotaped recordings of himself engaging in sex acts with girls who appear to be minors. The girls on the videos are yet to be identified.
