Marvel Characters to Soon Appear in Disney Parks?

Well, you knew it was coming and here it is: When Disney acquired Marvel Comics in a $4 billion transaction in 2009, we joked about Kingdom Hearts-y collaborations… Darkwing Duck and Spidey teaming up to take out Doctor Octopus, Snow White and the Fantastic Four and such.

But now Walt Disney Company CEO and President Bob Iger has told the Los Angeles Times that he is indeed “considering different options.” Which means, yes, you'll likely soon see some Marvel characters ambling around the parks alongside Donald and Goofy.

“We're just now considering all of our different options, so it would be premature to say when or where in the parks you would see Marvel characters–but I think it's safe to say that you're going to see some of those great Marvel characters walking around in the future,” Iger explained to the Times.

And now with Disney California Adventure trying to re-brand themselves as something other than, well, what we already know of Disney California Adventure, it seems this might be an opportune time and place to drop in some of those popular Marvel characters like Captain America, the Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and more.

Personally, we're way excited to see what Disney can do with Marvel's expansive catalogue of stories and characters–to an extent. Pretty sure we're not ready for a Spidermanland or Bloody Mary Janes to be served up at California Adventure.
