Man Shot Dead in Santa Ana Residential Area

UPDATE, JULY 7, 9:38 A.M.: The Santa Ana Police Department this morning identified last night’s fatal shooting victim as Anthony Ramirez, 20, of Santa Ana. Homicide detectives say it appears Ramirez was riding his bicycle in the 2100 block of West Washington Avenue around 10 p.m. when he was shot. A vehicle was seen leaving the area, add investigators, who still have not determined if the homicide is gang related. ORIGINAL POST, JULY 7, 9:07 A.M.: An unidentified man was shot to death Wednesday night in a residential area of Santa Ana, according to police.

Cops and paramedics were called about a shooting just after 10 p.m. near Washington Avenue and King Street, where the first responders found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, police say.

The fellow was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they have no suspect information and do not yet know if the shooting was gang related.
