Mammoth Mountain Gets a Nice New Snow Dump a Week Before Opening Day

It's hard to grasp given the warm weather here, but Mammoth Mountain is set to open just days away, on Nov. 7.

Helping to psyche everyone up there in the mountains above Bishop was a “solid storm system” that passed through Sunday and Monday, leaving a foot of fresh snow, according to resort spokesman Tim LeRoy.

The photo on the opener and below provide the evidence that this is more than marketing hype.

By the way, the first 100 at the mountain on opening day—which is a Thursday—get to ski for free. Lift tickets have also been reduced for everyone after the first 100, to $60—all that weekend.

It's to commemorate Mammoth's 60th year anniversary.

Sounds like all systems are snow!
