Not sure if the skipper and his little buddy were piloting the Lucky 7 Sunday evening, but the 55-foot yacht lost power in thick fog and crashed into Balboa Pier.
None of the 13 people aboard were injured, but the tub sustained significant damage and had to be towed away.

The Orange County Sheriff's Harbor Patrol reports the boat was about 800 feet offshore when the call came around 8 p.m. from someone on the boat about lost power.
Balboa Pier was closed through Monday morning before city inspectors gave the all clear after examining a few pilings that had been damaged in the collision.
