“There's no immediate threat to the public or the community,” Hallock told City News Service. “We believe it's an isolated incident and our victim was targeted.” He added the coroner is now scheduling an autopsy.

Neighbors did not recognize the woman and said the house near where she was found has been for sale for at least two months and is still occupied, according to televised reports.

The investigation of the woman's body on the side of the roadway on Live Oak Lane pointed sheriff's homicide detectives to Shin, according to a statement from Lt. Jeff Hallock that does not otherwise elaborate on that.

Hallock did add an autopsy concluded the woman died from multiple stab wounds to the upper body, and evidence from the scene indicates she was attacked at or near where her body was found.

Investigators are still trying to identify her and figure out her relationship to Shin, according to Hallock, who on Tuesday told reporters that while the suspect is a Yorba Linda resident, his home was in a different part of the city than the crime scene.

UPDATE NO. 4, FEB. 6, 9:48 A.M.: The female whose body was found on an upscale Yorba Linda residential street has been identified as Aubreyanna Sade Parks.

The 17-year-old was a runaway out of Gardena with a prior local arrest for prostitution, according to sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Her accused killer, Larry Shin, 35, of Yorba Linda, is currently being held on $1 million pending an expected arraignment hearing today, said Hallock, who added investigators are still trying to determine the suspect's relationship to the victim.

UPDATE NO. 6, FEB. 6, 6:46 P.M.: Larry Shoo Shin was in court for his arraignment this afternoon, but the proceedings were postponed until 10 a.m. Feb. 28. Held without bail, Shin was appointed a public defender.

He appeared with his left hand and right finger bandaged. There have been unconfirmed reports that he sought medical treatment in a local emergency care center after Aubreyanna Sade Parks was stabbed multiple times in the upper body.

Meanwhile, the 17-year-old girl's family reportedly told KABC Eyewitness News they reported to the Gardena Police Department that Parks ran away from home two weeks ago.

That agency was told by Santa Ana Police that vice detectives detained Parks previously during a prostitution operation, but the investigation determined she was a victim of human trafficking.

Parks was turned over to Orange County's Child Protective Services and placed in a shelter in Huntington Beach, but she quickly left saying she feared her alleged pimp would kill her.

Marsalis Joseph Smith, 25, had been arrested for human trafficking by force or fear, pimping a minor and pandering with a minor in relation to the Parks case. He pleaded not guilty last week.
