Suspected gang members were hanging out near an apartment complex in the 2100 block of West Alameda Avenue in Anaheim some time before 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, when a shot rang out. Police arrived to find Renato Gaitan, 29, of Anaheim, lying near the complex's carports, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at UCI Medical Center.

Police arrested two men and a male teen at their Anaheim homes in connection with what is being labeled a gang slaying: Elias Delgado, 21; Jimmy Ray Patrick Jr., 30; and Juan Manuel Garcia Fuentes, 15, who is being charged as an adult. As alleged members of the 18th Street gang, each suspect is also being charged with one felony count each of street terrorism. They are being held without bail.
