Just Another Orange County Murder: George Springer

Police responding to a shots fired call around 12:20 a.m. Sunday in the 8500 block of Bel Air Street in Buena Park arrived to find 42-year-old George Stringer lying face down in front of a home.
He'd been blasted with a shotgun.
Stringer was treated at the scene for life-threatening injuries to his upper body and later rushed to a local hospital, where he died.
A family house party in the neighborhood had apparently drawn gang members who were asked to leave, causing a fight to break out, according to Buena Park police spokesman Sgt. William Kohanek.
A gang member who may have been struck on the head with a beer bottle before leaving the party returned a short time later, only this time he was armed, Kohanek said. The spokesman added that Stringer was also armed, a confrontation ensued and shots were fired.
Investigators were unsure whether the victim got a round off before being shot.
The male suspect is described as a possible gang member with a shaved head. He was surrounded by two to five other males fitting the same description. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Buena Park gang investigators at (714) 562-3874.
