Joshua Alexander Evans: English Teacher Allegedly Hugged, Kissed 14 y.o. Girl Student

On many Fridays, Navel Gazing presents the ugliest police mugshot of the week. Perhaps on Mondays, we should offer up the Die Hard henchman police mugshot of the week. English teacher Joshua Alexander Evans would take this week's honors.

Law enforcement is reaching out to the public for other possible victims of the Fullerton 32-year-old accused of inappropriately kissing and hugging one of his 14-year-old female
students at El Rancho Charter School in Anaheim Hills.

Between this past December and January, Evans allegedly groomed the girl for a relationship beyond class by sending her texts and emails and playing
online games via his cell phone. He is accused of meeting the girl at least three times at another student's
home, and on two of these occasions they are said to have kissed and embraced one another.

The 14-year-old's mother learned of the relationship and reported the crime to the
school, which in turn contacted the Anaheim Police Department. Evans was arrested in Fullerton. But the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information
on this case or possibly others is asked to contact
Supervising District Attorney Investigator Lou Gutierrez at 714.347.8794 or Detective Joe Atkinson at 714.765.1487.

In the meantime, Evans is to be arraigned in Santa Ana this morning on two felony counts of lewd and
lascivious acts upon a child between the age of 14 or 15. If convicted,
he faces a maximum sentence of three years and eight months in state
prison and mandatory lifetime registration as a sex offender, which would bar him from entering city parks or county recreational areas that have banned sex offenders.
