Folks, we may have found the genius criminal to end all genius criminals, and as a bonus this one has Spock ears.
A man broke into a residence in the 2011 block of West Civic Center in Santa Ana on July 22, removed all of his clothing and went to sleep in a bed already occupied by a female resident.
She woke up, noticed the nude stranger sleeping next to her and screamed—so loudly that the man awoke, jumped out a window and ran off.
That might have been the end of it if it weren't for this: He left behind his pants.
And in those pants were pockets.
And in those pockets were a cell phone and a wallet.
And in that wallet was a California drivers license.
Here's the weird part … OK, that's bullshit, you just read the weird part. Here's the, uh, unusual part? The fellow pictured on the drivers license was not interviewed by Santa Ana police detectives until 10 a.m. this past Friday. What, was there a bankers, investigators and burglars holiday in between?
During that interview, Jonathan Phan, 29, and his Spock ears were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary.
