Nguyen, formerly a contract assistant girls' basketball coach at Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley, met and date the girl before having unlawful sex with her in his vehicle in December 2010.
That led to an ongoing sexual relationship that ended this past January, when Nguyen slapped the girl in his vehicle parked outside a convenience store before school hours. She later told Los Amigos High administrators, which produced a Fountain Valley Police Department trial, charges from the Orange County District Attorney and the trial that just ended at the Westminster courthouse.
Nguyen must surrender to jailers by Dec. 7.
