Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer are coming to Laguna Beach Friday for a high-priced fundraiser for Boxer's reelection campaign. The Democrats supply the star power at an afternoon luncheon and reception at the home of Sarah and Joe Kiani. Entry is a cool $500, or $250 if you're a member of the Young Democrats of America. If you pay even more, you'll get closer to the guests of honor.

As you'll learn on the ActBlue RSVP page, preferred reception seating is granted to those who give $1,000. It's $10,000 to be a luncheon guest, and $32,800 for “luncheon chair,” which presumably means you'll be recognized as a big spender and not that you get to sit while crumb bums who only paid a grand must stand.

“I approve this fundraiser.”

Of course there is a disclaimer: “Boxer Victory Fund will not accept contributions from currently registered federal lobbyists, registered foreign agents, political action committees, or minors under the age of 16 for this event. Corporate and union contributions are prohibited. Contributions or gifts to the Boxer Victory Fund are not tax deductible.” And, for God's sake, see a doctor if your erection lasts longer than four hours.

The address to the Kiani residence will be provided upon RSVP. Space is limited. Besides the link above, you can call Sheila Creal at 310.230.5328 (email Sh**********@ao*.com) or Janet Keller at 949.497.7036 (email **@ke***************.org).

Meanwhile, those used to the cheap seats can instead see Boxer without Biden for $20 at a Laguna Woods Democratic Club fundraiser scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Contact Alyssa Hendrie at 323.836.0820 by Wednesday if you want to attend.
