UPDATE, NOV. 19, 10:29 A.M.: The Anaheim Police Department has released the identity of the woman who was killed last Saturday night (Nov. 12).

Police also released as a booking photo of the woman now accused of murder.

The deceased was Lauren Duffy, a 21-year-old transient.

Her alleged 23-year-old killer Jessica Ventura, who is also a transient, was booked into the Anaheim Detention Center.

She was being held on $1 million bail.

"The crime is not believed to be gang related," says Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt, "and no other suspects are being sought."

ORIGINAL POST, NOV. 18, 3:53 P.M.: A 23-year-old woman has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a homeless woman in Anaheim's Edison Park Sunday Saturday night, police say.

Jessica Ventura apparently had "a personal beef" with the 21-year-old victim, according to Sgt. Daron Wyatt, the Anaheim Police Department spokesman.

His officers were sent just after 8:20 around 9 p.m. to the 1500 block of East Romneya Drive, south of the 91 freeway, where they found the woman with critical stab wounds to her torso.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she died.

Detectives arrested Ventura late Thursday, Wyatt says.

More details are said to be forthcoming.
