Jeffrey Thomas Sackman, Facebook Rape Suspect, Hands Down Ugliest Police Mugshot of the Week
Jeffrey Thomas Sackman, 44, of Cathedral City, is accused of posing as a 17-year-old Italian boy on MySpace, mbuzzy and Facebook. You can imagine the visions of " Giovanni Antonio Corsentino" in the head of a 15-year-old Buena Park girl who unwittingly met Sackman on social networking sites two years ago. It certainly was not the Lee Harvey Oswald lookalike you see here in the ugliest police mugshot of the week, which he posed for just after being arrested for allegedly luring, drugging and repeatedly raping the girl.
The unidentified girl took a bus ticket she believed the Italian boy had bought her so she could see her brother in Arizona. But the trip actually stopped at Sackman's spacious duplex near Desert Princess Country Club. He allegedly fed the teen meth there before she was sexually assaulted several times over the next week.
On Friday, the girl's mother called police about her runaway daughter. The mom had done some snooping and zeroed in on the Cathedral City area. Sackman, who was known to police there, was uncooperative when officers first approached him, reports the Desert Sun. The girl was eventually found in a "hidden" area of Sackman's home. Cops claim their suspect admitted to them some of what the girl claimed he did to her.
But on Tuesday, Sackman pleaded not guilty at the Larson Justice Center in Indio to felony charges of rape, unlawful sex with a minor and two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor. He was being held at Riverside County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
