But it's greater in Long Beach, which hosts the Green Is Greater Festival from noon to 6 p.m. at the Gaslamp restaurant. There you'll find music, art, fundraising and celebrating aimed at bringing Greater Long Beach's often-fragmented environmental
movements closer together.

The Wildlife Conservation Board's grant of more than $5 million to the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority to acquire Seal Beach's 100-acre, environmentally sensitive Hellman property will be feted at the festival, which organizers hope will become an annual event.

Co-sponsor Heather Altman has the full scoop on her EgretsNotRegrets.com blog. The Gaslamp, which is donating a portion of proceeds to attending organizations, is at 6251 E.
Pacific Coast Hwy., Long Beach. Email

Admission is free to both the Surf City and LBC events.
