Behold John Patrick Rogers, the man we wrote about last week who now has 28 restraining orders against him. The Orange County Register published a story revealing Rogers' criminal past and also the claim he suffers from Asperger's Syndrome. We were blown away by how many people have it in for the guy, based on the comments and horror stories left in our blog's comments. One thing not disclosed is the neighborhood nickname for Rogers: “The Creep.”
A philosophical point to discuss, then: if Rogers indeed suffers from Asperger's and post-traumatic stress disorder (from a previous assault on him and his mother), should his neighbors be more understanding of Rogers' alleged actions, like shining bright lights in people's bedrooms in the middle of the night or intimidating kiddies with a pit bull? Or is a jerk a jerk? Inquiring minds want to know!
