Irvine Has Sobriety Checkpoint Tonight While Other Agencies Conduct Saturation Patrols

The Irvine Police Department conducts a sobriety checkpoint from 8 tonight to 1 a.m. Saturday at Culver Drive and Farwell.

That's not the only cop show going extra hard at impaired drivers, as the “Avoid the 38” campaign previously announced saturation patrols tonight in Tustin, Anaheim, Laguna Beach and, yes, Irvine's doing them, too.

With saturation patrols, officers flood streets known for drunken-driving arrests and crashes. The Orange County Sheriff's Department has been holding multiple saturation patrols throughout its coverage area and contract cities.

Buena Park tonight hosts a multi-agency DUI task force from 8 p.m.-3 a.m.
