Okay, okay, okay: So there are some stories we should be covering more, and one of them is what's been happening at the Banning Ranch, the 400-acre wetlands and coastal hills in Newport Beach that its owners want to turn into Newport Coast-lite while activists want to keep untouched. I remember getting letters urging me to cover the issue in 2006…and nothing. Coker remembers getting alerts about it in the late 1990s…and nothing. Well, FINALLY we're going to start paying attention to the issue, and I began by focusing my KCRW “Orange County Line” commentary this week to the issue.
