This infernal rag has done much to cover OC's LGBT community in its 18 years, but “America's Gayest County!” from 2004 is a good start-off point. Of course, OC being OC, the good always comes with the bad, so my latest KCRW-FM 89.9 commentary used the recent disturbing news that hate crimes against LGBT folks in OC is on the rise to talk about the state of gay OC, which is actually on the rise and more prominent than ever before.
