Gustavo's Latest "Orange County Line" for KCRW: On Huntington Beach Cracking Down on Fun!
Courtesy of WOP Fridays...
In the latest salvo in its eternal war against itself, the Huntington Beach City Council is planning to severely curtail activities at the U.S. Open of Surfing after this summer's riots that left our beloved Racky permanently disabled. This comes on the heels of the city trying to keep the Wet Electric festival off HB's state beach and a report by the police stating the downtown area provokes way too many phone calls for service. Of course, Surf Shitty cracking down on fun is a story as old as the city--and that's the subject of my latest "Orange County Line" for KCRW-FM 89.9.
