We were all set to discuss the ACLU's recent declaration of war against OC's eternal war against homeless in my “Orange County Line” commentary on KCRW-FM 89.9. And then word came that surfers were planning to speak at the Newport Beach City Council meeting yesterday so they could try and get decades-old regulations against them at the Wedge lifted, body surfers be damned. Damn surfers always wanting their turf!
I kid, surfers: I kid–California Coastal Act and all that. But talking about the homeless and turf-hungry surfers in one commentary seemed perfect, if only because both are eternal OC wars without end.
