A report of a man down on a front lawn about a half block from the Orange County Register complex in Santa Ana late Sunday night led police to the body of the homeowner, 59-year-old Guillermo Vera.
Police who responded to the house in the 600 block of North Eastwood Avenue just before midnight said Vera suffered trauma to the upper portion of his body.
Subsequent investigation led to the murder arrest Monday afternoon of Angel Edzon Hernandez, 21, of Tustin.

Hernandez, who police claim tried to flee from officers who'd gone looking for him at his parent's Tustin home, is now being held at Men's Central Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
He is the on-again, off-again boyfriend of Vera's daughter, who was allegedly present when the two men argued about her outside the Eastwood Avenue house Sunday night.
Hernandez, who apparently has martial arts training, punched Vera in the head, knocking the 59-year-old to the ground, according to police. The younger man then fled.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Santa Ana police at 714.245.8390.
