Garden Grove, Costa Mesa Hold Checkpoints, While Lawyer Offers Low-Cost DUI Defense

The Garden Grove Police Department is holding a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint from 9 tonight through 2 a.m. Saturday.

Cops in Costa Mesa hold their own from 8 p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday.

Neither force is disclosing where it's operation will be held, so SURPRISE!

The agencies warn that drivers caught motoring impaired can expect jail, license suspension, and car insurance increases, as well as fines, fees, DUI classes, court probation and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.

Which reminds me: the law offices of Christopher Koch and Associates just announced they are marketing “an affordable DUI defense for Orange County residents as low as $1099.”

“The firm believes many people may not have the income they used to have, just a few years ago, but still need proper legal defense,” reads a release from the law offices.

The cop shops need no such discount for their sober-driving initiatives, which are funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
