Garden Grove Cops Hold DUI Checkpoint Tonight


The Garden Grove Police Department’s Traffic Unit holds a DUI/drivers license checkpoint from 9 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday.

The agency is not disclosing the exact location within city limits of the operation.

Wherever it is, GGPD officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment.

Drivers will also be checked for proper licensing, according to the department, which promises motorists will be delayed only momentarily.

Garden Grove cops advise use of designated drivers, ride services, taxis or just not drinking at all should you climb behind the wheel. Those caught driving impaired—even on medication prescribed be a doctor— can expect jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, other expenses that can exceed $10,000 not to mention the embarrassment when friends and family find out.

Funding for this checkpoint is provided to Garden Grove Police Department by a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,
