The "24-hour surfathon" will see civilians, celebrities and professional surfers taking to the sea to compete for who can grab the best wave each hour. The person with the most gnarly swells or whatever (you can this reporter's favorite beach sports are "reading" and "drip castles") receives a trophy. And it's all put on by

Save Our Surf

 to benefit Surfrider,Heal the Bay and Inside the Outdoors.


Yeah yeah you want to hear about the celebrities. Here's who'll be there in addition to host pro-surfers Shaun Tomson and Peter "PT"  and actress/founder Tanna Frederick:
