Emanuel Nunez Identified as Latest Suspected Gang Homicide Victim in Santa Ana: Update

The unidentified shooting victim's body was found near the intersection of Harwood Place and Cedar Street around 7 p.m., according to police.

At least the initial suspicion that this may have been a gang-related incident is based on where the victim resided, Santa Ana Police Sgt. Michelle Miller told City News Service.

Miller had no descriptions or other details about a suspect or suspects.

UPDATE, SEPT. 10, 3:42 P.M.: The deceased was identified by police today as Emanuel Nunez, 33, of Santa Ana.

No further details have been released. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Santa Ana Police homicide detectives at 714.245.8390 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1.855.TIP.OCCS. As the preliminary investigation pointed to the shooting being gang related, the department reminds that a monetary reward for information leading to the arrest of gang homicide or felony gang assault suspects can be offered.
