Israel Antonio Olarte offered what he thought was a valid explanation for sexually molesting an 11-year-old Orange County girl in April 2008:
She wanted it.
I'm not making this up.
After entering a kitchen in a house where Olarte lived with another family, he ordered the girl to drop her pants. According to court records, she complied and was molested.
After all, Olarte--then 36--made his demand while holding a sharp knife.
Later, after being given his Miranda warning, Olarte told police that he didn't feel any remorse "because [the girl's] the one" who wanted to be molested.
You won't be surprised that Olarte was convicted.
A Santa Ana-based California Court of Appeal recently rejected Olarte's claim that his defense lawyer sucked.
His prison sentence of six years remains in effect.
