“Over the course of the past three years, DUI collisions have claimed four lives and resulted in 51 injury crashes impacting members of our community,” says Tustin Police Sgt. Ryan Coe.
As cars pass through the checkpoint, officers will look for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment among drivers.
Cops will also check drivers for proper licensing.
Funding for the checkpoint comes from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
