Drunk Driving Accident (Sort of) Planned for Thursday in Irvine

Rubber-neckers beware: that car accident you're going to stare at Thursday won't be real. Keep it moving, please.

Woodbridge High School in Irvine is planning a simulated drunk driving collision at West
Yale
Loop, between Alton and Barranca parkways, as part of the “Every 15 Minutes” program that aims to reduce alcohol-related traffic accidents.

The roadway will be closed between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Expect to see police, fire and other emergency personnel on scene, which will be prepared by special effects coordinators.

Woodbridge High School is working with the Irvine Police Department, and the program is funded through state grant money.
We don't yet know if the simulation will feature guest appearances from drunk drivers like the former Orange County Sheriff's deputy, or the husband of a certain Villa Park official
