Derek Reeve, SJC Councilman in News All Year for Knuckleheadedness and Plagiarism, Scoffs at Integrity of His Middle Eastern Students


Lawyer, educator and San Juan Capistrano City Councilman Derek Reeve has been called out this year for advocating guns in city parks, naming a family dog after the Islamic prophet Muhammad and plagiarizing the writings of others. The last knock cost the freeway flyer instructor a gig at Concordia University of Irvine, where Reeve had been on the Fall schedule to teach government and political science classes. Amazingly, he remains on the faculty at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo–for now anyway, as Reeve seems hellbent on working in one more ugly controversy before 2011 ends.

As first reported by our comrades at Dissent the Blog (and later picked up by The Capistrano Insider)*, Reeve recently posted the following on his Facebook page:


If Reeve is not forced to explain himself to Saddleback administrators, it will be interesting to see how he squares his question with any international Middle Eastern students taking one or both of the Spring political science classes he's scheduled to teach come January.
