Dana Rohrabacher Tweets His Love for New Strongman Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi

The official results of Egypt's elections aren't going to be announced until next week, but the winning candidate couldn't be clearer. Exit polls show former Egyptian military chief Abdel Fattah el-Sisi taking a Hosni Mubarak-like landslide victory with over 90% of the vote over his sole opponent. The election is under intense scrutiny with a crackdown on dissenters in the lead up and intentionally low turnout. But Orange County's own congressman Dana Rohrabacher couldn't be happier.

He voiced unabashed support for el-Sisi when announcing an Egypt caucus with congressional colleagues before the vote.

Rohrabacher's el-Sisi supporting ways didn't sit well with local Arab-Americans that keep a close eye on Middle Eastern politics. Rashad Al-Dabbagh, Vice Chair of the California Dems' Arab-American Caucus, dinged Dana for his statement. The Twitter twit congressman lectured back as he always does:

Al-Dabbagh responded to the tomfoolery pointing out the obvious to the congressman oblivious to the obvious:

Former OC Register columnist and Egyptian-American Mona Shadia also served up harsh words for the el-Sisi-loving surfing congressman who doesn't surf:

Yep, Mona, it's shameful. But Dana has no shame!
